The 10 copperplate etchings in this series are my responses to the surrealist, anti-fascist novel, Invitation to a Beheading, written by Vladimir Nabokov. Originally published in Russian as a serial from 1935-1936, it was first published in English in 1959. They were last exhibited at the Cornell University library (Nabokov taught at Cornell during his time in the United States) commemorating the centennial celebration of Nabokov’s birth.
